Shuttering
stiffly in a corner,

The cold
breathe of a solitary one comes from a
shell.

A hallow-
empty shell, long ago abandoned.

Left out with
only another,

Bound by
blood.

The eldest
forced to give up his childhood to raise his own
brother.

Forced to do
those things of which parents are
meant.

Things that
no child ever should be forced to
undergo.

Many terrible
things- many horrible obstacles, but still they suffered
on.

The lonely
two- bound by blood.

Education was
a trick- just barely getting by.

Both forced
to go down hard on the books.

Jobs were not
an option- but a necessity to live.

The older of
the two took it upon his self to find
one,
Seeing as the
other was unable to work at such a young
  age.

School and
work- fun not a familiar word to either of the
boys.
Fun- was a
fantasy.

Pain was a
friend.
Pain was well
known.

Struggling
on- that was life.
Covering it up- hiding it well- never speaking of it to anyone
This was
normal.

No one knew.
No one needed to know.
No one
